Biblical Storyteller since 2006
I got involved with biblical storytelling through my church. Initially, when first asked to join a group that was forming to do biblical storytelling, I adamantly declined. Then I was asked again to attend the national festival gathering of biblical storytellers. I agreed to go, but only because I thought it would be fun to get away for a weekend with several women from the church. I was blown away by the quality of the storytellers! In the first class, we were taught how to tell the parable of the sower. Amazingly, we learned the whole thing in just a few days.
Then I helped our church group to tell during Advent. That was followed by doing a telling of the Passion at Easter. I found myself learning more and more scripture, and enjoying it. One of my colleagues kept telling me that I had a gift for biblical storytelling. I wanted to ignore it, but as time passed, I came to realize that biblical storytelling is indeed a gift. It has become a ministry for me; a way to bring glory to God and to His word while, through the work of the Holy Spirit, being a blessing for those who listen.

Some of the things that I tell include:
- Several stories of bold women of the Bible (Samaritan Woman, Hemorrhaging Woman, Woman Who Washes Jesus’ Feet, etc.)
- Parables of the Kingdom of God (Ten Bridesmaids, Laborers in the Vineyard, etc.)
- The Gospel of Mark, all of chapters 1-7
- The Gospel of John, parts of chapters 1-6 (Nicodemus, Wedding at Cana, Jesus as the Bread of Life, Jesus as the True Vine)
- The Passion of Our Lord from the Gospel of John (Chapters 13, 18, 19, 20)
- The Christmas Story (from Zechariah through birth of Jesus in Luke)
- Excerpts from Paul’s letters (parts of Romans, Ephesians, Colossians, Phillipians)
- Ascension and Pentecost
- The Creation Story (Genesis Chapter One and part of two)
- The stories of Abram, Joseph, and Jeremiah from the Old Testament
I am available almost any time to do Biblical Storytelling. I can come to your church on a Sunday morning, or visit your youth group, a women’s group, a Bible study group or senior citizens. I have done programs for several women’s retreats, Lenten Wednesdays for a church, Bible studies for a retirement home, senior citizen groups, a women’s tea, a building dedication, and others.
I do not charge a fee. For me, Biblical Storytelling is a ministry. If I am asked to tell, I do all I can to make it work. I can do a program that is 10 minutes, or I can do 60 minutes. If you have a need for a program, please contact me through the "Contact Page" and together we can develop a plan for your specific situation.
