Robert E. Alley
Robert is an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren—Retired
from full-time pastoral ministry having served three parishes over 40 years. He has been telling Bible stories at vrious levels for nearly 20 years.
"I first learned biblical storytelling in a continuing education event at the College of Preachers at the Washington National Cathedral in 1995 and used it periodically to present the scripture in worship in my congregation. Then I became better acquainted with it from attending worship at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg, VA after I retired.
I appreciate the discipline of learning the biblical stories/passages and I glean fresh understanding of the stories through letting them become part of my heart. I have enjoyed learning and telling John 11:1-45; Luke 24:13-35; Romans 5:1-5; John 3:1-17; I Corinthians 15:3-22; Mark 6:30-44; Matthew 25:14-30; Habakkuk 1:1-4, 2:2-4, 3:17-19; Matthew 22:1-14; Mark 15:42-16:8; Mark 9:2-9.
Since I am retired, my schedule is open. I can do biblical storytelling most Sunday mornings and whenever depending on the request.
